I'm looking for information on this religion. The "Open Bible Church".
I went to their main U.S. site.. and that was very very vague as to what their beliefs are.
Anyone got any info would be appreciated?

i was recently talking to a girl in my psychology class who told me that she use to be a jw and was df'd in the mid 1990's.
this girl shocked me because usually ex-jws are so unhappy and miserable and spend most of their time complaining about the "evil" wt society.
she told me that when she was df'd alot of ex-jws swarmed towards her trying to get her to "bash" the wt but she refused.
Bashing is an awfully strong word, isn't it?
when I think of bashing, Mike Tyson comes to mind or maybe that's ear biting.
Everyone who leaves has their own paths of recovery so I just leave them have their own path and I don't try to "psychologize" any one here.

ha ha ha ha i knew i would get you with that one.. actually, this morning my kids locked me in the closet.
i could not get out for the life of me.
i sat there telling them to let me out as they laughed at me.
My kids never locked me in the closet..but they used to put me in time outs if I accidentally let a bad word slip out.
Equality in my house. They had 5 minute time outs and occassionally I got a 5 minute time out too.
Moms aren't always perfect ya know.

toughest question anyone can ask, if the love of your life, and mate/wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend messed around on you, whether it be once or for years, how would you handle it and what would you do, think about it slowly and carefully.. wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy.. it's said that 50 % of marriages are affected by an affair, it's probaly alot higher.. did you notice any affairs in your congregation ???.
i look back now, and think, oh yeah there was.
I suppose if my mate cheated on me my first reaction would be a complete state of shock. We have been through so much together ,24 years, and have always maintained a solid committment to each other as we watched alot of our friends marriages fall apart.
I think I'd have to run for councilling right away or I might react in an infantile childish manner and not in my adult person. We have three kids to think about who would be impacted by such a thing.
I guess the very first step would be that he would have to move out and get an apartment while we worked through it all...Yup, there you go, that is what I would do.
I have always been adamant that the kids need their Dad in their life and have always said I would never deny him access to the kids if something went awry between us. As I think about it now, I still feel this would still be the case. My kids have a tremendous relationship with their Dad and to separate them from each other would be detrimental to both Dad and our kids.

when i was a witness, i shared a house with an elder/pioneer named herb.
herb was in his eighties, and he had paid off his two-bedroom house long ago, so he would offer the extra bedroom to local brothers.
it was a good deal, and herb got some company at the house, so everyone benefited.. for being in his eighties, herb was exceptionally fit.
Hi Seatleniceguy
Man, this has got to hurt.
i just wanted to let you know that I hear your pain at the loss of Herb. From your post it sounds like he was a very kind and gentle and giving man.
It sure makes one feel angry at hearing that no one chose to notify you. That hurts too.
Maybe, out of love for Herb, you could have a "Just For Herb Day". You could do things like,
Wash your windows. If your not a gardener, then maybe buy a Tomato plant for the deck or grow an inside green bean plant. Everytime you eat one you could say, "Herb would love these"
What we done in memory of lost loved ones is plant a tree in our yard or maybe a lovely bush of some kind.
Another thing we do to remember lost loved ones is bake something that was their favourite at Christmas time. I make a wonderful Gumdrop cake every christmas in memory of a dear friend who died in 2000.. and now I have a particular cheese cake I make for someone who passed away this year. Our kids really look forward to having "Bills Gumdrop Cake" and "Dougs Cheese cake".."Nanna's rolls" "Uncle Owens Molasses cookies".. It brings us warm memories of them all..
There have been so many jw's die since my husband and I were disfellowshipped 12 years ago that I really liked and admired but ..couldn't go to their funerals.
Again, sorry for your loss of Herb and the lack of consideration by J.W.s of not letting you know.

I think that Bo will take the "American Idol" crown this year.
He is soooo consistently good. I do believe he has only sung one song I didn't like.
I really like Carrie to, but I think the voting people will sweep Bo right on up to the top.

i ran across this today and got a good laugh out of it.
:) the following is jeff foxworthy's "you might be a jehovah's witness if...".
if "pioneer" is not a stereo, "new light" is not something in the house wares department and "tract" has nothing to do with land or farming.. .
I still find these Redneck JW ..lines hillarious.
Hillarious mostly because they are true. hahahahhahahahah

Wait until Bill and Monica here of the size of this cigar! WOW!!
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) - A Dominican man living in Puerto Rico rolled a 19-metre-long cigar earlier this year and now it's been declared the world biggest.
Patricio Pena's nine-kilogram stogie, rolled at a vegetable market in Puerto Rico's capital, easily beat the previous world record of 14 metres. Pena, who has lived in Puerto Rico for about three years, received confirmation his mammoth cigar was the largest from the Guinness Book of Records on Wednesday, his 44th birthday.
"I'm so happy, you can't imagine," Pena said Thursday.
"It was my birthday gift."
Guinness also confirmed Pena's feat in an e-mail Thursday.
Pena, who normally rolls regular-sized cigars, completed his masterpiece in January. The event drew curious onlookers as nine assistants turned the cigar while Pena wrapped it with leaves for about 90 minutes.
It took nine kilograms of tobacco and 100 leaves to complete the giant stogie, Pena said.
Pena, who doesn't smoke, said he may have to adopt the habit.
"I just might have to smoke one of my cigars to celebrate," he said.
